A selection of young, quiet, apricot and black, grass-fed only bulls are currently available. See photographs below.
We believe in QUALITY not quantity so only bulls and females which meet our strict criteria will be offered for sale. We are committed to the provision of cattle that meet and exceed the expectations of our customers.
Limousin is historically a horned breed of apricot colour but polled and black animals are now bred. However muscling and other breed characteristics can be lost with polling and changing the colour so we take great care in this regard.
Not everyone knows that a horned bull over British Breed polled cows will produce nearly all polled offspring, and only if the cow carries one horned gene from her ancestors will horns occasionally appear.
Another genetic feature worth noting is that an apricot Limousin bull over Black British Breed (e.g. Angus) cows will produce nearly all BLACK offspring, and only if the cow carries a red gene from her ancestors will the red colour occasionally appear.
The above two facts mean chasing polled and/or black bulls is not necessary.
Selecting bulls of moderate size and growth, with acceptable birth weights and with the tremendous true Limousin muscling produces the best progeny in our experience.
Docility scores for our young bulls are based on the scoring system developed and published by the Australian Limousin Muscle Alliance.
The scoring system is:
